Plastic Emotions

It's hard to deceive the world,
never show how you feel.
To exhibit a heart of melting butter,
though it lies in a case of steel.
To be nothing you believe in,
be soft, though you be hard.
To sheath the blades of your soul
and put on a smiling facade.
You make them all believe,
with them is where you belong.
You cover up your thorns,
and try to play along.
Plastic emotions, never real.
Cruelty, fury concealed.
Painted over, deep and dense,
to never be revealed.
Underneath beats a stony heart,
waiting, to be set free.
Stone...not just in hardness,
but in it's unchanging eternity.

  1. Quite true. Let it rain hard. The stone be polished smooth and flow. Move on.

  2. yes sounds familiar - I know just what you mean but sometimes its not that stony after all though it seems that way with all the other plastic around you! Good work
