I'm going to die

The sky is as blue as yesterday
The wind blows without haste or delay
The leaves rustle, do you know why?
Because today's the day I'm going to die

The birds, chirping like they always do,
fly to their nests with a grain or two.
Busy as usual, do you know why?
Because today's the day I'm going to die

People are walking on the street.
Nodding at other people they meet.
Their day begins, do you know why?
Because today's the day I'm going to die.

Children busy at work and play
Laughter and joy fills their day
Time flies past, do you know why?
Because today's the day I'm going to die.

Everything's fine, even without me
Nobody lives who can possibly miss me
Things go on, do you know why?
Because today's the day I'm going to die.

Don't worry, without me, they'll all get through
The world will go round without me too
It'll all stay the same, do you know why?
Because it doesn't really matter that I'm going to die

  1. Very well written but disturbing and depressing. Pretty dark stuff but the rhythm is catchy
